DWI saturation patrols effective
December 30, 2009
O’Fallon, MO
The O’Fallon Police Department recently conducted DWI Saturation Patrols on the days of December 7, 11, 12, 14, 15, 19 and 21. The saturation patrols were conducted in high DWI violation areas, as well as on state and city roadways. These areas included Mexico Road, Route K, Route M, Interstate 70, Bryan Road, outer roads, and 364 Outer Road. This effort was part of an ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving on O’Fallon roadways, and included multiple officers working five hour overtime shifts.
During the DWI Saturation Patrols a total of 9 suspects were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. A total of 66 citations were issued during the 28.5 overtime hours worked, of which 46 were moving violations. This effort combined both the monthly DWI saturation conducted by the O’Fallon Police Department along with the December statewide You Drink, You Drive, You Lose Holiday DWI Enforcement wave.
Funding for this effort was provided through grants from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Center.
From the O’Fallon Police Department.
