All-inclusive playground design to be unveiled

A new date - Wednesday, February 23 - has been set for the fundraising kickoff for the City of O’Fallon ’s first all-inclusive playground. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the lobby at the Renaud Spirit Center (RSC), 2650 Tri Sports Circle, O’Fallon, MO 63368.
The universally-accessible playground is designed so that children of all abilities can play together. To fund the project, which is to be built in Westhoff Park , the City of O’Fallon is partnering with a local not-for-profit organization, Unlimited Play, to raise funds and donations for the construction. The kickoff will be hosted by the O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department and will include remarks by O’Fallon’s Mayor, Bill Hennessy , the unveiling of the playground design, recognition of the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board (DDRB), which is providing a grant to help construct the playground, the introduction of a sponsorship catalogue with a range of fundraising opportunities coordinated through Unlimited Play, and the details of a trivia night fundraiser to be held on April 29 at the O’Fallon Elks Lodge. Kickoff activities include nature crafts for kids and raffles for Rascals baseball tickets and an RSC exercise bag.
Directions to the Renaud Spirit Center :
From I-64/Highway 40-61 – Take the Highway K exit north and continue on Highway K for about 2 miles to the stoplight at Waterford Crossing Drive . Turn left onto Waterford Crossing Drive, then left on Tri Sports Drive, and then take the first right to parking.
From I-70 – Take Exit 217 at Highways K/M ( Main Street ). Drive south on Highway K for about 4 miles to the stoplight at Waterford Crossing Drive and turn right onto Waterford Crossing Drive, left on Tri Sports Drive, and then take the first right.
