Accident on Highway 40 sends driver to hospital

On Mon., March 28, at about 10:30 a.m. Michelle N. Martens, a 22-year-old from O’Fallon, Missouri, was driving a 2011 Honda Civic eastbound on Highway 64 east of Highway 94.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol:
As the Civic was travelling on Highway 64, a vehicle attempted to merge into the same lane. Martens swerved to the left to avoid being struck by the other vehicle then struck the median wall.
Martens suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Health Center. She was wearing a seatbelt during the accident.
