17-year-old crashes car into utility pole

On Sunday, Feb. 22, a 17-year-old female from O’Fallon was driving a 2003 Mercury Sable eastbound on Route N just west of Point Prairie Road at about 11:50 a.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, crossed the center line and then traveled off the roadway again and struck a utility pole.
The driver was wearing a seat belt, but suffered serious injuries. She was taken to St. John’s Hospital in Creve Coeur by St. Charles County Ambulance.
There was extensive damage done to the vehicle.
