Lake Saint Louis
Shirley A. Young, 48, of Ferguson, was ejected from a vehicle Tuesday, Jan. 6 after the car she was occupying was involved in an accident.
At about 5:30 a.m., Young was stopped on the right shoulder of the road due to an earlier accident.
Larry W. Parks, 58, from St. Peters, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet S-10, westbound on Interstate 70 east of Lake Saint Louis, when the car began to slide on the icy roadway.
Parks traveled off the right side of the road, struck the concrete median and then struck the rear of the 2004 GMC Envoy Young was occupying. She was not wearing a seatbelt. The impact caused Young to be ejected from the vehicle.
Young suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital West by St. Charles County Ambulance.
