Authorities chase coyote through subdivision
August 22, 2008
Lake Saint Louis
The hunt was on in Lake Saint Louis for a wild coyote. The animal was spotted in a backyard by a woman in the Locksley Manor subdivision. The woman, who reported the animal to police at about 10:00 a.m., said that she thought it may be sick.
The Lake Saint Louis Police contacted St. Charles County Animal Control for help, but were told that Animal Control does not handle coyote issues. The Missouri Conservation Department was then called to the scene.
The search went on for about hour, and was wrapped up when the animal apparently retreated to a wooded area, away from homes.
