Dardenne Prairie, MO
The staff at St. Charles County’s Youth Activity Park (YAP) invites area youths and their families to celebrate a spook-tacular Halloween party at the third annual Night of Fright from 6 to 10 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 24. Geared for youth ages 8 to 16, but open to the entire family, the Night of Fright includes the Halloween celebration and the opportunity to rollerblade or skateboard at the 33,000-square-foot skate park.
Admission to participate in this special event is $5 per person, with additional trips through the haunted house costing $2 per trip for those wishing to enjoy the spooky festivities more than once.
A number of activities are planned throughout the evening. The Haunted House (designed for ages 8 and above) will feature surprises around every corner. A Hanging Apply Tree contest will challenge participants to bob for apples that dangle from the ceiling above. Attendees eight and over may also participate in costume contests that will determine the funniest and scariest outfits of the night. Prizes will be awarded for participants in all games and contents.
To test their skills at the YAP’s skate park, guests must adhere to the posted rules of the facility. An “extreme” activity waiver must be completed for all guests using this amenity. A listing of the park’s rules and the activity waiver may be downloaded at www.stccparks.org.
Designed to offer recreational opportunities focused at area youths, the 25-acre Youth Activity Park is located at 7801 Highway N in Dardenne Prairie, less than a mile west of Bryan Road. Among the YAP’s many amenities are the skate park, indoor and outdoor rock climbing walls, sand volleyball and basketball courts, an indoor recreational center that features a video-game nook, paved trail, open play fields, and a concessions area.
