The jury for the Lori Drew MySpace court case has been selected and includes six men and six women.

The prosecuting attorney revealed that in response to the fictitious Josh Evans’ post of Oct. 16, 2006, “The world would be a better place without you,” Megan Meier responded, “You’re the kind of boy a girl would kill herself over.”

Testimony began today with Tina Meier. She said she had concerns about Megan’s mental state and asked her husband to reverse lock on the bedroom door so Megan couldn’t lock herself in.

Meier was found hanged in her bedroom closet shortly after that Internet correspondence.

Lori Drew, 49, has been accused of helping create the fictitious cyber boyfriend on MySpace. Meier engaged in communications with the fabricated Evans. The messages from Evans initially were friendly and then turned mean.

Drew is being prosecuted under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. The trial is being held this week in Los Angeles (where MySpace computers reside).

Drew pleaded not guilty in May when a federal grand jury in Los Angeles indicted her on charges of conspiracy and accessing computers without authorization to get information used to inflict emotional distress.
