Looks like Dardenne Prairie picked the right weekend to host their annual Prairie Days celebration. After a week of expected rain, the sun should take over--in time for the Prairie Days festivities.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 20 from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and head to the Dardenne Athletic Fields on Hanley Road.

Get involved!
Enter the pie baking contest or submit a photo of your favorite Dardenne Prairie sight for the photo contest.

Dog photo contest to benefit Deputy Scott Beine
Submit a 4 x 6 photo of your dog to enter the dog photo contest! Photos will be displayed during the Prairie Days celebration and party-goers will vote by placing money in their favorite contestant’s jar. The three dog photos earning the most money will be awarded ribbons and prizes donated by Westinn Kennels. The proceeds of this contest will be given to Scott Beine and his family.

Deputy Scott Beine, an 11-year veteran with the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department, was participating in a charitable golf tournament on July 7 when a wayward golf ball struck him in the forehead. Deputy Beine is suffering from a severe head injury and has not been able to work. His wife must stay home to care for him and their two children.

Is your dog Prairie Dog material?
The winning Dardenne Prairie resident dog photo model will be declared “Prairie Dog of the Year” and will receive a plaque bearing that proclamation.

And that’s not all…
Bring the kids for inflatables, pony rides and face painting. Groove to the sounds of Johnny Chase and then enjoy a fireworks display. Of course there will be delicious food, drinks and vendors!

For more information on Prairie Days and to obtain complete contest rules, see the Dardenne Prairie website.
