Snow day crater cake

Happy Snow Day Monday!
Here is a snack cake recipe made from such basic ingredients. No treacherous, slippery drive to the store necessary.
It’s called “crater cake” because the topping sinks in and makes craters. Ask the kids to imagine what shapes they see in your unique crater cake.
Snow day crater cake
Cake ingredients:
1-1/2 cups sifted flour
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon maple syrup or vanilla
Topping Ingredients:
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Mix the cake ingredients and place batter in a nine-inch, greased and floured cake pan.
Mix topping ingredients and dot on top of the cake batter.
Bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for 30 minutes.
