Painting show opening reception

The Foundry Art Centre will be holding an opening reception for their latest exhibition “Painting, the Artful Palette”—a show celebrating the variety and unique qualities of paintings—on August 27, 2010.
From 6 to 9 p.m., the public can enjoy free food and drink along with artful conversation and observation. The artist studios on the second level of the Foundry will also be open to the public for visiting. Admission, as always, is free.

The Foundry Art Centre is a fine arts gallery overlooking the Missouri River at 520 North Main Center, in the Frenchtown district of Historic St. Charles. The Foundry features a Smithsonian-caliber art gallery hosting national juried exhibitions plus 20 working art studios where visitors can watch the creative process and buy art directly from the artists. The not-for-profit art centre also provides community meeting rooms, event space and a children’s art gallery. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and donations are welcome.
