Artists of all skill levels can learn how to create a still life of flowers at the St. Peters’ Community & Arts Center. Artist and instructor Shirley Nachtrieb will teach an instructive two-day workshop, Autumn Still Life in Watercolors, on Oct. 29 and 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Shirley will teach the basics of composition in creating a still life with flowers in this workshop and will guide you in making your own unique creations. She will also discuss proper techniques and color theory. The class will work from seasonal flowers, and participants are invited to bring a favorite vessel for flowers.

Shirley has been a freelance artist and teacher for more than 30 years. Her painting mediums include watercolor, pastel, acrylics, mixed media, fiber and handmade tools.

The fee for the workshop is $110. St. Peters’ Community & Arts Center is located at 1035 St. Peters-Howell Road. For more information on the class or to register, contact Shirley at 636-947-1936 or e-mail Shirley@nachtrieb.com.
