Christy Martin photo exhibit opening at the Renaud Spirit Center Cultural Arts Gallery

An exhibit of digital photographs by Christy Martin will be available for viewing November 4 through December 30 at the Cultural Arts Gallery in the Renaud Spirit Center , 2650 Tri Sports Circle, O’Fallon, Missouri 63368. Admission and parking are free. The gallery is open during regular business hours, 5:15 a.m. - 10 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 5:15 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Fridays, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Martin, who lives in O’Fallon, has been interested in taking pictures since childhood. Her color and black-and-white images include Missouri and Colorado landscapes, Chicago cityscapes, abstracts, and portraits of newborns, families, butterflies, animals and flowers. Her work has been selected for the juried Spring Art Walk in St. Charles (2010, 2011), and she won an Award of Excellence in the Sharpshooters Exhibit at Chesterfield Arts 2011. She is also a resident artist at MindWorks Gallery in Chesterfield .
“I have a passion for the beauty surrounding us that we pass by,” said Martin. “I literally see pictures everywhere, whether it’s a landscape bathed in light, a dandelion wet with dew, the rolling hills of Missouri wine country, or the face of a newborn baby. And I hope that my photos bring a feeling of peace and serenity in an otherwise hectic world.”
