An evening with Ken
February 16, 2011
St. Charles County, MO
Local Artist Ken Farris’s love of art dates back to pre-school days when he and his sister painted using their dime store watercolors. Years later, Ken is a resident artist at Framations Art Gallery, located at 218 N. Main Street, St. Charles, MO and has brought select pieces to the St. Charles County Family YMCA – to benefit the 2011 Strong Community Campaign.
Throughout the month of February, original artwork by Ken is on display in the lobby of the St. Charles County Family YMCA. People are encouraged to come into the Y anytime and enjoy this beautiful collection at their leisure. On Monday, February 28th from 6-8 p.m., everyone is invited to meet the Artist himself and spend ‘An Evening with Ken’ and learn a little more about how this self-taught Artist continues to prove it’s never too late to dream.
The Y counts on the generosity of members and partners like Ken Farris who give to the Strong Community Campaign to provide direct financial assistance to our community. In 2009, the Y gave nearly $2.9 million back to our communities, and over $400,000 of that went to families and individuals right here in St. Charles County. For more than 150 years, the Y has delivered lasting personal and social change to children, adults and families in neighborhoods across the St. Louis area.
The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
