Local High School bands perform at Mizzou

Many local high school bands were in Columbia this past weekend to perform at the Champion of Champions Marching Band Contest.
The University of Missouri Bands hosted the season-ending event for the schools at Faurot Field. Local bands that participated included Orchard Farm High School, Wright City, Fort Zumwalt East, Fort Zumwalt West, Wentzville Holt, Francis Howell High School and Francis Howell Central.
In the preliminary round Wright City finished first in the 3A class while Orchard Farm was fourth. In the 5A Black class Fort Zumwalt West finished in the fifth spot while in the 5A Gold class Wentzville Holt finished second followed by Francis Howell, Fort Zumwalt East and Francis Howell Central.
The finals featured local bands from Wright City, Francis Howell Central, Fort Zumwalt East, Wentzville Holt and Francis Howell. Blue Springs South won the competition with Wentzville Holt finishing in fourth and Francis Howell fifth.
