Thanksgiving is close at hand which means lots of vegetable peeling.
Veggie peels are like gold in a compost bin. If tossing these nuggets into the trash just feels wrong to you, check into vermicomposting (composting using worms). The worms eat and magically digest organic trash into gorgeous compost.
Why compost? The main reason is that the result of the worms’ work is a premier fertilizer. Composting is easy, it recycles trash otherwise headed to landfills and its end-product enhances soil naturally.
Check out this video and also this article about starting your own worm bin.
