Proud of the wee one

Not the biggest melon in the patch. Literally.
He never lived large as did his amply-endowed peers; but we aren’t into comparisons. The size of a large softball, our “crop” was harvested Tuesday.
This is our baby and we are beaming. Observe that perfect coloring. And, just like big kid watermelons, he offered a satisfying “thump.”
Pale pink on the inside, the fruit was surprisingly tasty. We will plant his seeds next year just to see what happens.
I hope you’ve had success in the garden this year--even a miniature one.
No efforts are insignificant. Celebrate them all!
