Hey, St. Charles County…grab a Scrabble game, a dictionary and settle in for some hot Scrabble action. Apr. 13 is Scrabble Day and nothing sounds like more fun during this semi-snowy day.

According to Wikipedia, the game is sold in 121 countries in 29 different languages. A Scrabble game can be found in one out of every three homes in America. If you are one of the “other two” homes and don’t own a Scrabble board, join the craze and add the activity to your game closet. According to Target’s website, the traditional board game can be found in stores for about $13.

Scrabble was invented in 1938 by Alfred Mosher Butts, an architect. The rights to manufacture the game have changed hands many times and are now owned by Hasbro.

Peach cobbler, anyone?

Apr. 13 is also Peach Cobbler Day, and no dessert sounds more mouth-watering while calculating Scrabble points.

Scrabble Day and Peach Cobbler Day both fall on April 13th. A raining Sunday seems the perfect day for both.
