The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop C will participate in the 2010 C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) Life Saver Weekend. The effort is scheduled to begin just after midnight on Friday, December 17 and end at midnight on Sunday, December 19.

Troopers will be actively enforcing all traffic-related statutes during this weekend. They will put an emphasis on seat belt use, aggressive driving, excessive speed and driving while intoxicated.

The goals of Life Saver Weekend are to increase public awareness and make area roadways as safe as possible, reducing the number and severity of traffic crashes. Troop C reminds drivers to allow plenty of time for holiday travel, reduce their speed, wear seat belts and not to drink and drive. Drivers are also encouraged to pay attention to the weather forecast and call the Missouri Road Condition Report phone number, 1-800-222-6400 to check routes ahead of time.

Drivers who may be impaired or a danger to the public can be reported to the Patrol by calling 1-800-525-5555 or *55 from a cell phone.

Troop C serves Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, Perry, Pike, St. Charles, St. Francois, St. Louis, Ste. Genevieve, Warren and Washington Counties in Missouri.
