Don’t forget the April Showers bag

Gather those personal care supplies for the Girl Scouts’ April Showers 2009 drive.
Fill that special green bag, which was left at your doorstep last week. Place the bag outside your front door before 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 25.
Out of ideas? Here are some items which local pantries need:
- toilet paper
- shampoo
- soap
- deodorant
- baby care supplies
- feminine hygiene supplies
- disposable diapers
- first aid supplies
- lotion
- tissues
- toothbrushes
- toothpaste
Personal care items are vital to donate, because they cannot be purchased with food stamps by local families and individuals in need; and pantries are usually lacking in these items.
Last year, Girl Scouts collected more than one million personal care items.

Next year’s bag distribution will take place on April 9 through April 11, 2010.
