This is not your mother’s tea party:
Tea party held on Arch steps
February 27, 2009
St. Louis, MO
St. Louis area conservatives met on a chilly Friday morning at the foot of the Arch to rally against government over-spending.
Upwards of 300 people were in attendance, a good number of them carrying protest signs. Dana Loesch, blogger of www.mamalogues.com and radio personality emcee’d the event. Speakers included Bill Hennessy and football legend, Jackie Smith.
The group made their way to the riverfront and threw tea leaves into the river (a la Boston Tea Party) and jokingly claimed they would “stimulate” the fish.
Videos are forthcoming.

St. Louis area conservatives are joining like-minded folks in conducting the Nationwide Chicago Tea Party (think: Boston Tea Party). The St. Louis Tea Party will be held, Friday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at the south foot of the Arch stairs.
What motivates people in at least 35 cities across the nation to participate in such an event? The stimulus bill.
Passions are running fierce because, they say, the government is allocating money irresponsibly and spending on non-necessities. Dana Loesch, blogger of www.mamalogues.com and radio personality, says Friday’s tea party is really a “classic taxpayer revolt.”
Plans are afoot to attach messages to tea bags and mail them, en masse, to the White House.
The movement stems from this rant by CNBC reporter, Rick Santelli while on the trading floor in Chicago recently.
