We’ve heard a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of love in the spring.
But what does his heart desire in the fall? Cookies!
Not that fall has arrived. It just feels like it today in St. Charles County.
Let’s pretend 90-degree afternoons are behind us. To enhance our fall fantasy, why not whip up some cookies?
Here’s a super-easy cookie recipe just perfect for today:
Almost autumn cookies
One box of cake mix
One stick of butter
One egg
Mix the above ingredients and bake rounded spoonfuls of dough on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 350-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until cookies are a little golden on top.
Options: Add chocolate chips or roll cookies in flax seeds, nuts or sprinkles before baking.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
