Wentzville Rotarian and State Representative Chuck Gatschenberger, R-Lake St. Louis, recently challenged his fellow Rotarians to match a “Challenge Grant” he has pledged to Rotary District 6060’s Assistant Governor Eric Park.
Rep. Gatschenberger has promised Park $1,000 towards the Rotary MicroCredit efforts in Honduras and is challenging other members of the Wentzville Rotary Club and all other clubs in District 6060 to match his donation.
Park, who serves as the Assistant Governor and Chair of District 6060’s MicroCredit Committee, is planning a trip to Honduras at the end of May to visit the Rotarian MicroCredit operations there. Several individual clubs in the rotary district have sponsored “banks” in Honduras. Sponsoring and naming a bank requires approximately $3,000.
“Rotary MicroCredit efforts are making a significant impact on the local poverty level in Honduras. I feel it is important to continue these efforts, which is why I have challenged my fellow Rotarians to match my pledge,” said Rep. Gatschenberger. He went on to say, “I am always looking for ways to help those who are less fortunate. As a State Representative, I have stood up to help protect those who cannot defend themselves and am doing the same as a Rotarian.”
Rep. Gatschenberger’s goal is to raise enough money to sponsor a bank in the name of Rotary District 6060.
