Billy Mays memorial in Lake Saint Louis

Lake Saint Louis

Legendary pitchman, Billy Mays, who died unexpectedly Sunday, was reported as being generous and larger than life; so, it shouldn’t have been a surprise to me when I found a Billy Mays memorial right here in Lake Saint Louis.
There on the paint counter at Lowe’s was a humble hand-written note which read something in the spirit of “In memory of Billy Mays.” Fresh flowers draped over the note’s corners and a number of Mays’ pitched products, including bottles of the famous OxyClean, surrounded the note in a semi-circle.
Lowe’s has public spokespeople, for sure, but sometimes one is led by the heart and a simple, human act is what feels right.
Rest in peace, Billy Mays.
