One lot of romaine lettuce from Tanimura & Antle, located in Salinas, California, was voluntarily recalled on July 21, because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
Though the recalled lettuce is past its shelf life, harvested June 25 to July 2, consumers are advised to destroy bulk or wrapped romaine from lot 531380.
The lettuce was sold to retail, wholesale and food service outlets in Canada, Puerto Rico, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Texas, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, North Carolina, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
A random test conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture tested this lot of romaine lettuce positive for Salmonella. No illnesses related to this issue have been reported to date.
